Armenia-EU Relations Become More Coordinated

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian President Robert Kocharian met with EU Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner, reported the RA leader's press service. Robert Kocharian voiced satisfaction with the fact that the Armenia-EU relations are getting more coordinated. As a priority task the President marked the ratification of the Armenia-EU Action Plan within the European Neighborhood Policy program. Assuring that Armenia will quickly and properly fulfill the commitments Robert Kocharian said, "Armenia is ready for serious reforms and views the Action Plan as a serious means for deepening them." In his words, Armenia lacks rich nature resources rates efficient governance as the principal way of development. For her part Benita Ferrero-Waldner said the Action Plan is a good basis for future partnership. According to her, democracy and rule of law make the core of the program. She also noted that the European Neighborhood Policy opens new prospects for Armenia's economic development. The parties also referred to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement as well as the situation created after the Rambouillet talks.
