EU troika to visit Armenia in February 2008

PanARMENIAN.Net - Newly appointed Slovenian Ambassador to Armenia Primož Šeligo (residence in Kyev) handed copies of credentials to Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian, the RA MFA press office said.



Welcoming the Ambassador, Minister Oskanian wished him every success and said that Armenia intends to deepen relations with Slovenia.



Noting that Slovenia will assume the EU presidency in January 2008, the Minister highlighted Armenia's relations with the European Union in the framework of the Action Plan.



For his part, Ambassador Šeligo expressed satisfaction of the Armenian-Slovenian relations. "The European Union presidency is an important task for Slovenia, which intends to participate in cooperation programs in the South Caucasus," he said adding that the EU troika will pay a visit to the region in February 2008.



The parties referred to the latest development in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.
