Armenia could make the world take it seriously

PanARMENIAN.Net - "When the people will no longer be afraid of the government, and people's government is established, the world will take us as a state with its own system of values," Gayane Martirosyan, Women for Peace NGO representative, told a news conference today, adding that this is the only to get Armenia be taken seriously.

"Armenia's inability to solve its internal issues by itself causes other countries to dictate to us," Gayane Martirosyan noted.

When questioned by PanARMENIAN.Net reporter on the oncoming elections into the council of Elders, Gayane Martirosyan said, "We must be afraid of voting. Everyone is free in his choice. We have to solve our internal issues ourselves," she said adding that people and the government are currently alienated. "Government's disregarding people's opinion is only an illusion. In truth, government is trying to impose its will on people, whenever it sees any benefit in it," she concluded.
