ANC to consider possibility of dialogue after political detainees' release

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Armenian National Congress will, in the near future, consider the issue of whether or not to start dialogue with authorities. ANC consists of many political parties, and during joint discussions, we arrive at common decisions," ANC representative Hovhannes Igityan told a press conference.

Even after RA Parliament's declaring amnesty, there are still political detainees in prisons, Igityan said. "A dialogue, if ever held, should only be aimed at helping the country overcome the current situation," he stated.

The politician finds extraordinary elections as a proper tool enabling the country to solve several political problems. "A parliament should have a strong opposition. A weak opposition is unable to take decisive steps or promote effective discussions," he added.
