Ruben Melkonyan: Turkish elite not ready for normalization of relations with Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The ‘silent diplomacy’ the Turkish leaders are speaking about doesn’t not exist, an Armenian expert stated.

“After Turkey frustrated the process of ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols, no real diplomatic process took place between the countries,” Ruben Melkonyan told a PаnARMENIAN.Net reporter.

Commenting on development of Armenian-Turkish relations in 2011, he said no changes will occur before the second half of the year.

However, he did not rule out that Turkish authorities may pretend feign willingness to normalize relations on the threshold of April 24.
