Raffi Hovannisian excludes union with political forces in support of Robert Kocharian May 19, 2011 - 13:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Leader of opposition Heritage party Raffi Hovannisian excluded a union with other political forces in support of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharian. During a press conference in Yerevan, Hovannisian refuted reports that a secret meeting of a range of Armenia’s political forces was held to discuss possible support of Kocharian. “I do not trust secret meetings. If I have a meeting, which is of public interest, I will announce about it myself,” he said. According to Hovannisian, a union with other political forces for participation in the upcoming parliamentary election is not on the party’s agenda. At the same time he noted that the party will continue discussions with other political forces. Hovannisian stressed the importance of the Civil Meeting to be held by the party on May 21, during which he expects an open public discussion on problems faced by the country and ways to tackle them. “May 21 will mark an important stage for me, as a citizen, since resolution of the existing problems of Armenian citizens, as well as legal and domestic political problems will become clear for me,” concluded Hovannisian.
