NEGOTIATIONS ON KARABAKH SETTLEMENT: ILHAM ALIYEV CAN ADVANCE NEW CLAIMS, AZERI FM STATED

PanARMENIAN.Net - The meeting of Armenian President Robert Kocharian and Azeri leader Ilham Aliyev being held in Geneva today can serve as a basis for the future negotiations, Azerbaijani foreign minister Vilayat Guliyev told Mediamax agency. Though the Presidents were for the first time formally introduced to each other, they have the possibility of objective conversation, he said, adding that Ilham Aliyev is aquatinted with the negotiation process on the Nagorno Karabakh issue. "President Heydar Aliyev and Robert Kocharian were seeking for the ways of resolving the Karabakh problem. No one knows, what they agreed upon, for the outcomes of these negotiations are not fixed on paper. Armenia and Azerbaijan did not undertake any commitments, thus giving Ilham Aliyev the possibility to start from the very beginning. He may have new claims and approaches", - Azeri MFA head said.
