UNDER-AGE PRISONERS OF ARMENIA CELEBRATE CHILDREN PROTECTION DAY

PanARMENIAN.Net - On the occasion of the International Children's Protection Day the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in collaboration with the Program for the Study of International Organization(s) of the Graduate Institute of International Studies (PSIO-GIIS) initiated a philanthropic visit to Abovyan criminal executive institution for underage in Armenia. The Alumni Council Armenia of Capacity Building in International Relations (CABIR) in South Caucasus told PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. The action was called to attract attention of the population to the problems of unprotected children. In the course of the meeting, held in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Ombudsperson of Armenia, the guests used the opportunity to talk with the minors, presented questions of protection of children's rights to them. Specifically, matters of integration of these children into the public life after the completion of their sentence were discussed. They also talked to the children about their rights. Upon completion of the meeting the children were given presents.
