Number of unemployed reaches 75 thousand in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The number of unemployed reached 75 thousand in Armenia in March 2009, showing 4.6% increase against last year's index, according to the RA National Statistical Service.



The average salary increased by 13.8%, exceeding AMD94.6 thousand. Employees of government-financed organizations increased by 18.6% and reached AMD80 092.



"We are hopeful that the situation will improve by the end of the year," Anahit Parsadanyan, representative of the RA Ministry of Labor, told PanARMENIAN.Net



Meanwhile, the number of unemployed in Russia reached 2.132 million, according to Interfax news agency. By the end of the year the figure is expected to grow up to 7 million.
