National day to combat tobacco marked in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - By RA Government's decision October 12 is the National Day to combat tobacco . As the RA minister of Diaspora informed, the year of 2009 is declared the Year of Armenians' fight against tobacco.  On October 12, 2004 the National Assembly of Armenia ratified the Framework Convention of the World Health Organization on tobacco control.  Currently about 30 per cent of the adult population of Armenia are smokers, while about 60 per cent of smokers are the breadwinners of their families. Every year May 31 is declared as No Tobacco Day worldwide.
