According to RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan the book aims to revive Taron spirit in Armenian society. "The importance of Taron is invaluable in creation of the state and national unity. Vardan Grichents calls those ready to sacrifice their lives for their country and people true Armenians," he noted.In his turn, Vardan Grichents stated that the book symbolizes the idea of Armenian statehood. Taron was a canton of the Duruperan province of Greater Armenia, now in the Mush Province, Turkey. It was divided into four districts: Mamikonian, Palauni, Artokh, west of Lake Van.The History of Taron, is a relatively short "historical" romance in five parts, purporting to describe significant events occurring in the district of Taron during the Byzantine-Iranian wars.The History describes the actions of five generations of Mamikonians (Taron's princely house), in defending and avenging the district.
