Germany to promote the educational sphere of Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Minister of Education and Science of Armenia Armen Ashotyan met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Germany to Armenia Hans-Jochen Schmidt November 11.



As the press service of the RA Ministry of Education and Science reports, congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment, minister mentioned that the work of German Embassy in the field of education has always been effective. The minister expressed hope that the two countries will continue to develop and implement an ambitious program in education and science .

Speaking about the problems associated with Armenology chairs and departments in foreign universities, the minister said that for the first time this year, the state budget allocated necessary funds for the Department of Armenian studies at Berlin University.



"Activities of the departments of Armenian studies in European universities could significantly contribute to the development of Armenology," the Ambassador said, stressing that Germany will continue actively supporting the development of education in Armenia.
