Hranush Hakobyan: the state is an irreplaceable value for the Armenian nationJuly 29, 2010 - 20:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On July 28, the participants of the 17th Student Forum of Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society visited the RA Ministry of Diaspora under leadership of President of Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Foundation, Deputy of the RA National Assembly Lilit Galstyan. The purpose of the traditional Hamazkayin Student Forum is to bring together Armenian university students around the world and help them get in touch with national roots and cultural heritage. The participants of this year’s forum are 35 Armenian students from Armenia and Diaspora Armenian communities in the U.S., Lebanon, Iran, Syria, Brazil, England, Australia and Canada. Welcoming the youth’s visit to the RA Ministry of Diaspora, Hranush Hakobyan presented the history of the newly independent Republic of Armenia and touched upon the critical situation created after the earthquake, the Karabakh war and the economic blockade. The Minister also stated that today the Republic of Armenia is represented as a subject of international law with all its attributes, including a victorious army. “We must strengthen our country by using our intellectual potential. The Armenian youth studying at different notable universities around the world must invest their intellectual capabilities in building the Homeland,” said Hakobyan. The Minister also presented the Ministry’s activities and upcoming programs. The Diaspora Armenian youth watched a video showing the Ministry’s activities in the past year and were introduced to the books published by the Ministry. “The state is an irreplaceable value for the Armenian nation. You don’t love the Homeland because it is good, but because it is yours,” said the Minister in closing, RA Diaspora Ministry press service reported.
