Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Raul de Luzenberger also participated in the meeting. Financing of the Yerevan metro rehabilitation and water supply systems of Armenia’s small municipalities through the EU Neighborhood Investment Facility were in the focus of the meeting. An agreement was reached during the meeting on implementation of a 36.8mln euro program, as a result of which water supply in Armenia’s seven regions will be improved, water treatment plants will be rehabilitated, as well as the Yerevan metro will be modernized. The European party expressed willingness to increase financing in case of successful implementation of the program. Besides, an agreement was reached as part of the EU Neighborhood Investment Facility on assistance to small and medium enterprises of Armenia, as well as involvement in works on neutralization of Nubarashen burial of toxic chemicals, the press service of the RA NSC reported.
