Armenian Minister of Education ready to resign, if government insists on itDecember 20, 2010 - 17:08 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan said he is ready to resign, if the government considers it to be necessary. “Speaking at the meeting dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan voiced new criteria, with which Armenian officials should comply. If the country’s leadership considers that I do not meet these criteria, I am ready to resign,” Ashotyan told a press conference on December 20. The Minister refrained from assessing his activity, saying that it is a public matter. Recently, a reshuffle in the Armenian government took place. Armenian Minister of Justice Gevorg Danielyan has been dismissed and substituted by expert of the constitutional right Hrayr Tovmasyan. Ex-Minister of Finance Tigran Davtyan has replaced Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan. Besides, Vice Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Vache Gabrielyan has been appointed as the Minister of Finance. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
