Local model of 911 service to operate in ArmeniaApril 22, 2011 - 13:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan said that no country is capable to struggle against natural disasters alone. Currently, natural disasters are a serious challenge to the world, Yeritsyan told an international meeting in Yerevan devoted to decreasing disaster risks. “Like other countries, we try to build a state, which will be ready to overcome natural disasters,” he said. Yeritsyan added that various natural disasters are observed in Armenia, while certain measures should be taken to prevent them. According to him, the Ministry works for soonest opening of a crisis management center in the country. Yeritsyan also said that a local model of 911 service will start operating in Armenia in a couple of months.
