Armenia ranks 17th in UEFA fair play chartJanuary 30, 2009 - 19:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia ranks 17th in the Fair Play chart, the Armenian Football Federation told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. UEFA has been highlighting its priority activities for 2009 in the wake of the latest meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in Nyon, Switzerland: improving financial fair play in UEFA competitions; protecting young footballers; and progressing with preparations for UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. These three pillars were explained by UEFA General Secretary David Taylor, and will remain at the top of the European governing body's agenda over the coming months. From now on, top three federations meeting the UEFA criteria will be granted an extra place in Europa League. Teams are judged on the following Fair Play criteria: Yellow and Red cards: If no cards are shown the score will be 10. For every yellow card will deduct this total by 1. A red card will cost a team 3 points in the ranking. If the red card is the result of a second yellow card the deductions of the two yellow card will be ignored. But if a player gets a direct red card after he got a yellow card earlier, the yellow card will be counted as a deduction. This score could become negative. Positive play: For positive play a team can score a maximum of 10 point and a minimum of 1 point. Respect to the opponent: e.g. returning the ball to the opponent at a throw-in: maximum 5 points, minimum 1 point. Respect to the referee: maximum 5 points, minimum 1 point. Behavior of the team officials: maximum 5 points, minimum 1 point. Behavior of the fans: maximum of 5 point and a minimum of 1 point Top stories Armenian gymnast, Olympic bronze medalist Artur Davtyan has reached the finals of the World Cup.
