Armenian gymnasts to leave for London to participate in World Championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - On October 13, Armenian gymnasts Vahagn Stepanyan and Harutyun Merdinyan are leaving for London to participate in World World Gymnastics Championship on October 13-19 (coach: Sos Sargsyan). Stepanyan will take part in all round gymnastic competitions (i.e. 6 disciplines) and Merdinyan will compete in pommel horse discipline.



"There are 350 athletes participating in all round competitions and if Vahagn is qualified for final, i.e. he is one of best 24 sportsmen, that'll be a success. Pommel horse discipline will bring together 250 gymnasts, and Merdinyan will attain best result in case he's in the list of top 8 athletes. By the way, Vahagn recently received leg injury, but he'll be ready for World Championship. On October 11, we'll conduct a checking training in London, and on October 13, we'll start competitions for World Championship," he said.
