Darchniyan gets chance to win his IBO bantamweight world title backMarch 28, 2011 - 16:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Vic Darchinyan will get the chance to win his IBO bantamweight world title back in his April 23 clash with former IBF champion Yonnhy Perez in Los Angeles. Darchinyan lost the title when he suffered a split points defeat to Mexican Abner Mares last December. However, it appears Mares has relinquished the IBO title to pursue the more established IBF crown of Ghanaian Joseph Agbeko in the other bantamweight world championship bout on the same card. Darchinyan's manager Elias Nassar said the 35-year-old boxer was informed he will now be fighting for the vacant IBO bout. Nassar said Darchinyan looks in great shape sparring against two of Australia's brightest prospects, Will Tomlinson and Joel Brunker. Darchinyan will leave for America two weeks before his fight, wwos.ninemsn.com.au reported.
