PanARMENIAN.Net - April 18 on the invitation of the government of Rwanda His Holiness Catholicos Aram I will leave for the capital city of Kigali to participate in the 10-th anniversary commemoration of the Rwandan genocide. Catholicos Aram I will address an international conference on "Genocides in the 20th century and lessons to humanity," and will meet the president of Rwanda and church leaders. As Yerkir.am notes, in early 1980's Rwandan citizen Nikotem Ruhashiankiko was the first to have mentioned the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey, when reporting at the UN Human Rights Commission, thus sparking opposition from Turkey and its allies.
