GEORGIAN LEADERSHIP DECIDED TO REPAIR ROADS OF JAVAKHETIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgian government allocated 2 million laris (about $1 million) for the repair of the roads in the Armenian-inhabited Samtskhe-Javakheti region. In the words of the deputy to the Georgian minister of infrastructures and development Gennadi Muradian, these funds will allow to repair the Zhdanovka-Ninotsminda highway starting from the Armenian-Georgian border as well as some sectors of the roads leading to Akhalkalaki, the major town of Javakhetia. G. Muradian also noted that the Kartsakh-Akhalkalaki and Tsalka-Ninotsminda roads will be thoroughly repaired in the future. According to A-info agency, the repair of the first highway is partly conditioned by the project of constructing a new Georgian-Turkish customs point in Kartsakh. While the repair of Tsalka-Ninotsminda road will considerably shorten the way between Tbilisi and Javakhetia as well as the distance between Tbilisi and the Turkish border.
