  ARMENIAN SPEAKER RECEIVED NEWLY APPOINTED US AMBASSADORSeptember 10, 2004 - 23:09 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Artur Baghdasarian received newly appointed US Ambassador to Armenia John Marshall Evans. As reported by the Press Service of the National Assembly of Armenia, having wished the Ambassador good luck in fulfilling his diplomatic mission, the Speaker said he is confident that in the course of J. Evans' stay on this post the US-Armenian relations will keep developing and US assistance programs to Armenia will continue. Having noted the importance of direct interparliamentary ties, J. Evans noted the significance of the role the Parliament plays in the political life of the country and expressed readiness to support the legislative activities of the National Assembly. Other questions of mutual interest were also discussed in the course of the meeting.
