PROMISING GROWTH IN GOOD TURNOVER BETWEEN ARMENIA AND GERMANY OBSERVED, GERMAN AMBASSADOR TO ARMENIA CONSIDERS

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to the indices of 2004, promising growth is observed in turnover of goods between Armenia and Germany, stated German Ambassador to Armenia Dr. Heike Renate Peitsch, Regnum news agency reported. In her words, it first of all comes out in doubling Armenian export to Germany. The Ambassador also noted the promising nature of the German investments into the Armenian economy. "At present a number of German enterprises study the opportunity of wider activities in Armenia. Meanwhile, the creation of preconditions for positive investment climate via transparent and favorable legal provisions for the investor is finally a prerogative of the Armenian Government," she noted. According to the data of the National Statistical Service of Armenia, in 2004 the goods turnover between Armenia and Germany made $157 million, which exceeded the indicator in 2003 78%. The position role of the goods turnover with Germany in the total foreign trade turnover of Armenia has made 7.6%. The share of the Armenian export in the total goods turnover with Germany made $83 million, while import $74 million. As of January 1, 2004, 49 joint ventures with participation of German capital and 17 organizations are registered in the State Register of Armenia. Among the 160 commercial partners of Germany in import respect Armenia is the 137-th, Russia - the 13-th, Azerbaijan - the 76-th, Georgia - the 129-th. In respect of export Armenia is the 127-th, Russia - 17-th, Azerbaijan - 108-th, Georgia - 111-th.
