BAKU DISCONTENT WITH OSCE MINKS GROUP ACTIVITIES BUT DOES NOT SEE ALTERNATIVE TO IT

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan does not see any alternative to the OSCE Minsk Group for the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, head of the department for international affairs under the Azerbaijani President Novruz Mamedov said, Azeri Trend news agency reports. "On the whole we are discontent with the activities of the Minsk Group, however lately the Co-Chairs have shown a greater interest to the issue. That is why, despite our discontent we said that this structure should solely deal with the problem", N. Mamedov said. In his words, the Minsk Group is a juridical structure formed within the OSCE for the settlement of the Karabakh conflict. When commenting on Azerbaijan's proposals to consider the problem within other international organizations Novruz Mamedov said, "All other activities are the constituent of Azerbaijan's foreign policy. The Azerbaijani leadership and the President personally try to enlist support of the international community and a purposed work is held in this direction. The structures formed within the Council of Europe, European Union and PACE Subcommittee on Nagorno Karabakh have a positive impact on the consolidation of Azerbaijan's position. However from the juridical viewpoint the problems should be dealt with by the OSCE Minsk Group."
