Daniel Fried Discussed Constitutional Reform with Coalition and Opposition Forces

PanARMENIAN.Net - Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Daniel Fried discussed the constitutional reform process with representatives of the Armenian coalition and opposition forces. When commenting on the position of the political forces opposing the constitutional amendments Mr. Fried noted that each political force has the right to express attitude. In his words, distrust conditioned by the problems available in the past prevails in the relations between the power and opposition. Daniel Fried refrained from commenting on the draft constitutional amendments. "People from outside should not explain Armenians how to vote. The U.S. supports the division of authority between the power branches and the independence of juridical system."
