Turkish Embassy in Poland Continues Pressure on «Armenian Issue»

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Turkish Embassy keeps interfering with Polish authorities decisions over Armenian-related issues. Pastor of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Poland Tadeush Isahakian-Zaleski stated it at Cultural Legacy of Armenians conference held in Wroclaw Friday, PanARMENIAN.Net reporter informed from Poland. The conference marking the 60th anniversary of arrival of Armenians from Lvov to Wroclaw was organized by Europe of the Future society. The moving of the Armenian Genocide exhibition from the city center to a museum was the major topic discussed at the conference. In the words of Right and Justice Party (PIS) representative Marek Mutor, the photos at the exhibition were shocking, however they were in line with the historical truth and thus the exhibition in the city center should have not been banned. In his turn Tadeush Isahakian-Zaleski remarked, «In case of no intervention by Turkish diplomats, not only Wroclaw residents, but also many tourists would have seen the documentary exposition on the Armenian Genocide.» He again reminded of the case of erection of a monument to victims of the Armenian Genocide in 1915, when the Turkish Embassy was against the words «Armenian Genocide» on the monument. «The opinion that the exhibition was moved owing to its negative impact on children's mentality is erroneous. In case of being led by that logic school tours to Osventsim should be banned,» stated Doctor of Historical Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences Grzegorz Kucharyk. It should be noted that on Sunday a liturgy will be offered followed by establishment of a board in memory of victims of the Armenian Genocide in 1915 next to St. Woiciech Church.
