ICG: Peaceful Settlement Based on Compromise Only Way to Solve Karabakh Issue

PanARMENIAN.Net - Peaceful settlement based on compromise is the only way to solve Nagorno Karabakh issue, stated International Crisis Group (ICG) Caucasus Project Director Sabine Freizer. In her words, Azerbaijan and Armenia have lately made much effort to solve the problem. «I hope both conflicting parties will finally find peaceful ways out of the situation,» S. Freizer stated. Answering the question on the opportunity for societies of the countries not to accept the peace proposals, S. Freizer stated, «I suppose not everything depends on the Governments of these countries. All institutions of the society should take part in it, including the opposition, media, NGOs, etc. Lasting peace can be achieved in the region only if it is the case,» reported Day.az.
