Romanian Public TV Broadcast on Armenian Genocide

PanARMENIAN.Net - November 22 the Romanian Public TV cultural channel - TVR Cultural aired an hour-long program on the Armenian Genocide committed in the Ottoman Empire in 1915, reported the Press Service of the Armenian MFA. Ph.D. Catalin Avramescu was the host of the program. Director of the Institute of Contemporary History of Romania, Bucharest University professor, historian Andrei Pippid and diplomat Bedros Horasangian made reports as well. The TV program participants presented documented facts and data on the first Genocide in the 20th century and its organizers. The program was followed by demonstration of documentary shots on the Genocide.



Romania media have earlier covered the Armenian Genocide topic as well. Specifically the holding of a scientific conference in Bucharest this year that marked the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, establishment of a Khachkar (stone cross), addresses of Armenian MPs in both chambers of the Romanian Parliament, however a special program on the issue at this level was aired on the Public TV for the first time.
