TBILISI CONSIDERS OPENING OF ARMENIAN CONSULATE IN AKHALKALAKI CITY NOT URGENTOctober 3, 2002 - 23:15 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Tbilisi considers the question of opening Armenian consulate in Akhalkalaki city not urgent. Plenipotentiary of the Georgian President in Samtskhe-Javakhetia region Teymuraz Mosiashvili stated it while commenting on Armenian Prime Minister's recent proposal to open Armenian consulate in that Armenian-populated region of Georgia. "It is more important to launch the state program on social and economic development of Javakhetia, in which international organizations will also take part," - T.Mosiashvili stated.Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
