Mikheil Saakashvili to resign November 25

PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who intends to maintain the office at the January 5 presidential elections, will hand in his resignation November 26, press service head Vano Noniashvili said.



"Upon resignation, Mr Saakashvili will hold a series of meeting with Polish and Lithuanian Presidents, who will be in Georgia for festivities dated to the 4th anniversary of the Rose Revolution November 23-24," he said.



According to the Georgian Constitution, the parliament speaker will assume the office.



Afterwards, Saakashvili will officially launch his election campaign, Novosti Georgia reports.
