Serbs protest Kosovo independenceFebruary 18, 2008 - 15:29 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Protesters took to the streets in key Serb centers across the Balkans on Monday to vent their anger at Kosovo's declaration of independence a day earlier.Protesters smashed windows at the U.S. and Slovenian Embassies in Belgrade. In the Serbian capital Belgrade, some 7,000 people gathered in Republic Square, carrying Serbian flags and singing anti-Albanian slogans. Several thousand Serbs also gathered in their north Kosovo stronghold of Mitrovica, shouting "Kosovo is Serbia" and marching to the bridge across the River Ibar that divides them from the Albanian south of the town, Reuters reports. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
