ISRAELI DEFENSE DEPARTMENT AND JERUSALEM ARMENIAN PATRIARCHATE TO SIGN AGREEMENT REGARDING ARMENIAN CHURCH LANDS

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Israeli defense department and the Jerusalem Armenian Patriarchate will sign an agreement, according to which the separation wall between Israel and Palestine will pass not through the Patriarchate territory, as planned before, but along its borders. As Armenian deputy foreign minister Ruben Shugarian told "Arminfo" agency, some provisions of the document were already worked out. Thus, according to one of the items, Israeli army representatives can pass over the Armenian Patriarchate territory only in case of making certain payment. The agreement will also assign separation wall dimensions and its coordinates. In the deputy minister's words, the Armenian party should insist on the principle on indivisibility of the Jerusalem Christian community, for which it will have to hold consultations with representatives of the Greek Church, Vatican, as well as with US and Russian mediators.
