Armenia should prepare for NATO enlargement

PanARMENIAN.Net - There is an opinion that preferring to have weak and liable to influence Presidents in the South Caucasus, the West is implementing a special program for the purpose, Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office Director Kiro Manoyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

"The South Caucasus is really a geopolitical crossroad and the NATO summit once again proved this fact," he said. "Armenia should be prepared for NATO enlargement although the Alliance doesn't have a unanimous position of the issue."

Azerbaijan is aspired to be the major player in GUAM, according to Mr Manoyan. "With more money and the possibility to transport energy sources to the West, Azerbaijan is trying to resolve problems through GUAM," he said.
