GUAM trying to enlist support of "major players" for passage of resolutions on frozen conflicts

PanARMENIAN.Net - GUAM member states intend to enlist support of "major players" for passage of resolutions on frozen conflicts, GUAM Secretary General told reporters in Baku.



"I am hopeful that this time Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova will succeed in garnering majority of votes in the General Assembly," Valery Chechelashvili said.



Presently, GUAM member states explain the essence of the draft resolution to the UN member states, according to him.



"Recent adoption of two resolutions on Azerbaijan's occupied territories and on the situation in Abkhazia proved that our position is gaining weight," he said.



The draft resolution on frozen conflicts in the GUAM territory will be discussed during UN GA session in New York in September.
