Yerevan, Minsk to develop economic cooperation

PanARMENIAN.Net - The first meeting of the Armenian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission will be held in early 2009, RA Foreign Minister said during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart.



"We will consider the ways to intensify contacts between the ministries of both states," Edward Nalbandian said, adding that the Armenian parliamentary delegation led by the speaker will visit Belarus next year.



For his part, Mr. Martynov said Armenia and Belarus have close economic relations which should be developed.



The commodity turnover has increased 8 times since 2001 but it's not enough, according to him.



The Belarusian Minister also informed that Days of Belarusian Culture and Cinema will be held in Armenia next year, BELTA news agency reports.
