Turkish President had a "great phone conversation with Azerbaijani President

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish President Abdullah Gul said he had a "great phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today".



Speaking to reporters at the April 23, Gul said that "contrary to what has been reflected, there is no coldness in Turkey's relations with Azerbaijan".



"It is not merely Turkey-Azerbaijan, Turkey-Armenia...Russia, the United States and the European Union are all involved in a process of diplomacy never witnessed before on relevant topics," Gul said.



If all the efforts end successfully, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia and the whole region would benefit from this, Gul also said, turk.net reports.



Earlier today, Turkish President Abdullah Gul had a phone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev. Both leaders discussed the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia and the developments in the Caucasus, the Turkish Presidency said in a written statement.



"Today's talks were a continuation of consultations between the two heads of state in the recent weeks and confirmed the traditional understanding, solidarity and close cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan that contributes to the stability and welfare of the region," the statement also said.
