NKR President Bako Sahakyan awarded Karabakh athletesApril 28, 2009 - 23:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 28 President of the Nagorno Karabagh Republic Bako Sahakyan received Ashot Hairapetyan, NKR and Armenia champion in athletics and Arthur Petrosyan, NKR champion in athletics, who recently became winners of international open athletics championship in Medon, France and coach of the NKR national athletics team Arthur Arstamyan. Issues related to the development of sports and athletics in Artsakh were discussed during the meeting. The Head of the State congratulated the sportsmen on their victory and noted that they uphold high the honor of our state. Bako Sahakyan underlined the importance of sports in developing physical strength as well as in forging the will and morale. The President noted that the new doctrine of developing sports adopted by the Government will boost the development of sport and physical culture in the republic. At the end of the meeting the President handed in to sportsmen and the trainer money prizes.
