Russian President will not meet Ahmadinejad

PanARMENIAN.Net - SCO Summit Headquarters in Yekaterinburg informed that bilateral meeting between Russian and Iranian Presidents Dmitri Medvedev and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is cancelled, gazeta.ru reported.



Medvedev tight schedule within SCO and BRIC summits framework is the reason, sources clarified. Initially presidential meeting was planned on Monday, yet Ahmadinejad arrived in Yekaterinburg only on Tuesday morning.



Iranian President is invited to participate in SCO summit in observer's capacity.



Meanwhile, Iranian ex-Vice President Mohammad Ali Abtahi, Mir Hossein Mousavi supporter, was arrested this morning.



According to official results, provided by Iran CEC, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wan presidential elections of June 12, with 62,6% of votes, followed by Mir Hossein Mousavi - 33,7%, Mohsen Rezaee- 1,7% and Mehdi Karroubi - 0,85%.
