Turkish MPs withdraw from Israel friendship society

PanARMENIAN.Net - Most of the Turkish MPs, who were members of the Turkish-Israeli friendship society, withdrew from the society in protest over Israeli practices against the Palestinians, Israeli parliamentary sources revealed.

Robert Tibayev, a member of the Israeli Knesset (parliament) who heads the Israeli side in that society, said that the majority of the Turkish members withdrew from the society following the tension in relations between the two governments in the wake of the Israel’s Operation Cast Lead.

He told the Hebrew radio on Tuesday night that only four Turkish opposition lawmakers were now present in the society, Palestinian Information Center reported.
