In 1918 Armenian people united around national idea

PanARMENIAN.Net - President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan congratulated the Armenian people on the occasion of the Day of the First Republic of Armenia.

“May 28 is a special historical day for the entire Armenian people. 92 years ago, after the victory in the heroic battle of Sardarapat, the first Armenian Republic was proclaimed. Withstanding different ordeals, suffering indescribable hardships and losses for centuries, our nation has found strength to endure and declare its existence to the world. The heroic soul and self-confidence of the Armenian people were again reborn; the lost Armenian statehood was restored. It became the basis and source of inspiration for our future victories,” Mr. Sahakyan said in his address.

“In 1918 the Armenian people did not give way to despair and escaped from extermination, it gained a glorious victory, as in the fatal hour it managed to consolidate and unite around national ideas. Freedom, independence and democracy are the only true path, which has been chosen by our people since 1918. I am confident that it will be victorious for the two Armenian states,” the NKR President stressed.
