This time too, in the course of a private meeting with leaders of the US Armenian community, the Senator discussed a wide range of topics including U.S. recognition of the Armenian Genocide, U.S. assistance to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, and the search for a lasting and equitable resolution to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The Senator also recognized that the "wrongful blockade" against Armenia by Turkey must end, stressing that the United States government should impress upon Armenia's neighbors.![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit.
