Truth about Karabakh causes nervous reaction of Azerbaijani representative at meeting of Socialist InternationalOctober 11, 2010 - 20:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A meeting of Socialist International Committee for the CIS, the Caucasus and the Black Sea kicked off on October 11 in Baku with participation of member of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Bureau, Co-Chairman of the Committee Mario Nalbandian and ARF Dashnaktsutyun Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office Director Kiro Manoyan. Prior to the meeting launch, media representatives addressed questions to the ARF Dashnaktsutyun representatives concerning the Karabakh conflict settlement and Armenian-Turkish normalization. Regional security matters, specifically, the Karabakh conflict, were discussed during the meeting. In response to resentment expressed by a representative of the Azerbaijani delegation with respect to the suggestions made by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, Kiro Manoyan said that Baku is displeased with them, as they do not provide Azerbaijan with the opportunity to include Artsakh in its composition. Manoyan noted that Karabakh has never been within Azerbaijan’s composition, what caused a nervous reaction of the Azerbaijani representative. For his part, SI Secretary General Luis Ayala welcomed discussions between the parties, expressing hope that Armenians and Azerbaijanis will reach an agreement despite different stances, what will contribute to establishment of stability in the region. It should be noted that representatives of Azerbaijani media have already distorted Manoyan’s words. Specifically, they noted that allegedly Manoyan characterized the Karabakh conflict as Armenian-Azerbaijani, though Manoyan literally said that it is Karabakh-Azerbaijani conflict, the ARF Dashnaktsutyun press service reported.
