Armenia assists internatioal community’s efforts to improve situation in AfghanistanNovember 22, 2010 - 12:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On November 20, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan participated in a meeting of Heads of State and Government of the Nations contributing to the UN-mandated, NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. During the sitting, Minister Nalbandian said that the situation in Afghanistan causes concern of many countries, while Armenia joined the ISAF in Afghanistan due to this very reason, expressing willingness to expand its participation in the force. He attached importance to military and financial assistance to Afghanistan, stressing the need to rehabilitate the trust of people of Afghanistan towards the ability to build a stable and peaceful future. The Foreign Minister expressed Armenia’s support to upcoming actions of the international community, which would allow implementing long-term programs of assistance and intensifying the political, economic and humanitarian cooperation, the RA MFA press service reported.
