  Turkey continues intensive arming of Azerbaijan December 8, 2010 - 15:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan and Turkey will launch joint production of military equipment next year. The sides have already reached an agreement on joint production projects. The Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan and Turkey’s Otokar Company signed a protocol of intention in October to produce armoured equipment on the basis of license, with necessary spare parts to be imported from Turkey. Azerbaijani and Turkish defense industry officials are expected to discuss prospective projects later in December. Azerbaijan and Turkey are now producing small arms and some of ammunitions, APA reported. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million).
