ARMENIA AND BELGIUM SPEAK FOR THE ACTIVATION OF BILATERAL COOPERATION

Today the Ambassador of Belgium to Armenia Andre Mernie (the residence is in Moscow) presented copies of his credentials to the Foreign Minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian, was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

Welcoming the Ambassador, V. Oskanian congratulated him on the appointment and wished successful and fruitful work. Ambassador Mernie stressed the necessity for close cooperation, directed to deepening of the relations between the two countries.

At the request of the guest Foreign Minister of Armenia presented the current political and economical situation in the country and the process of the peace settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

Foreign Minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian met his Belgian counterpart Louis Michelle in Brussels on June 15. After the meeting the sides declared that Mr. Michelle will visit Armenia in November 2000 to sign a number of documents. -0-
