CHINA IS DISPLAYING INTEREST IN THE PROJECT OF IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION

PanARMENIAN.Net - 22.09.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. China is greatly interested in the project of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline construction, declared today the head of the foreign relations department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Tsai U, at the meeting with the prime minister of Armenia Andranik Margarian.

As was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press service of the government of Armenia, Mr. Tsai U forwarded to Armenian premier the greetings of the prime minister of China and the invitation to pay an official visit to their country.

According to Tsai U, the great scientific potential of Armenia may give considerable results in the process of bilateral economic cooperation.

Noting China's great interest in the production of Armenian rubber, premier Margarian offered to apply Armenian industrial technologies in China.

In the end of the meeting Andranik Margarian told the Chinese side about the continuous drought consequences and voiced his hope that China will help Armenia to liquidate them. -0-
