LITHUANIA INTENDS TO PAY GREATER ATTENTION TO COOPERATION WITH SOUTH CAUCASIAN COUNTRIES

PanARMENIAN.Net - Lithuania is going to pay greater attention to the cooperation with the South Caucasian countries, as Lithuanian president Rolandas Paksas being on a visit in Armenia stated today. Besides bilateral relations, he noted, "we intend to develop cooperation by 3+3 formula, providing for interaction between the three Baltic and three South Caucasian countries". To note, as the result of the negotiations held by the leaders of the two countries in Yerevan, three papers have been signed today: the pact on legal assistance in civic, family and criminal cases, the agreement on re-admission of illegally residing persons as well as the agreement on entry visa cancellation for people possessing diplomatic passports. An Armenian-Lithuanian business-forum with the participation of business circles of both countries is to be held in Yerevan today as well. It should be noted that the Lithuanian president arrived in Armenia within the framework of his regional visit to the South Caucasian countries after his visit to the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. He was as well expected to visit Baku, however as reported by some Baku sources the visit will be cancelled in the view of the fact that Azeri president Heydar Aliyev is taking treatment in the US at present.
