RPA member calls industry a locomotive of Armenia’s economy

PanARMENIAN.Net - In May 2011, Armenia’s economic activity index was 7,7%; a double industrial growth was reported against the same period in 2010.

At news conference in Yerevan, the chairman of the RA National Assembly Standing Committee for Financial, Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan characterized industry as a locomotive of Armenia’s economic growth.

As he noted, the growth became possible due to Armenian authorities-conducted anti-crisis policy. Minasyan believes that the collective indices of January – April 2011 economic activity to be later published by National Statistical Service won’t be below 3,5%.

The national budget envisages 4,6% GDP growth and 4% (±1,5%) inflation.
