Armenian GMs to participate in Biel International Chess Festival![]() July 21, 2012 - 16:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - From July 23-Augsut 3, Armenian grandmasters Sergei Movsesian and Hrant Melkumyan will participate in Biel International Chess Festival in Switzerland. World Number 1 Magnus Carlsen, who has already won twice in Biel (2007 and 2011), will come back for the 2012 edition. Meanwhile, with 7 points out of 9, grandmaster Giorgi Bagaturov (Georgia) came 3rd by additional results at Varna International Open Chess Festival, with Valentin Pambukchyan (Bulgaria) scoring 5,5 points to come 16th. Bulgarian grandmaster Ivan Cheparinov won the championship with 8 points. Partner news Norway will host Chess World Cup 2013 on August 10 - September 4, 2013, with 4 Armenian players to participate in. Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian is currently 3rd with 4 points, Bulgaria’s Veselin Topalov is 7th with 3 points. European Individual Chess Championship ended in Polish town of Legnica, with 24 chess players winning World Cup qualifications.
