Coach says any Olympic medal brings honor to Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team is well-prepared, the squad’s second coach said.

“Frankly speaking, we expected a gold medal. Now we will work hard to overcome the obstacles our team faced during London 2012 Olympics. Anyway, any Olympic medal brings honor to our country,” Samvel Gevorgyan said.

Greco-Roman wrestlers Arsen Julfalakyan (74 kg) and Artur Aleksanyan (96 kg) won silver and bronze respectively at London 2012.

“Armenian championship due in November will determine the future squad. Both Roman Amoyan and Yuri Patrikeev will participate in the tournament,” the coach said, adding that the wrestlers will perform at European Team Championships at the end of 2012.
